... Is to remember to take time for yourself. We are in very difficult times right now and being a student during these times does not make that any easier. You are about to enter some of the best years of your life and even though this year is going to be a bit different than past years you will still have an amazing time. There is an amazing staff working hard to make sure you have the best year that you possibly can, so go out and enjoy as many events and student programming as you can throughout the year, work hard on your class work, but always remember that if you get overwhelmed or stressed it is okay to just take a minute for yourself. Even a short break where you take time to focus on your wellbeing can make the world of difference.
... Because of it's location. I grew up in a very small town, so Sackville seemed to be the perfect choice because it was a bit bigger than my home village and super close to Moncton if I needed anything from the city. In Sackville you still get that friendly small town feel but with many many more opportunities. At Mount Allison the town and school are really focused on their students. I love the fact that for the most parts class sizes are small enough that your professor can learn your name. While I am at school I always get a sense of being at home.
... To go out for garlic fingers. Sackville has so many amazing independently owned restaurants, cafés and pizza shops. One of the biggest debates at Mount Allison is who makes the best garlic fingers. Jack's and Snack Shop both make amazing garlic fingers and you definitely need to try Goya's honey garlic fingers at least once. It's so much fun to take a study break and grab some garlic fingers with friends.
