Orientation Leader at Mount Allison University Orientation
Class of 2023
Hometown: Nova Scotia, Canada
Secondary Major: Political science
... I chose Mount A because I like the environment around the university and the people I have met and have become friends with. I fell in love with the town. The university has a great academic reputation and I am proud to be part of that. Also, it's a bonus that am not too far from my hometown Truro, Nova Scotia.
... Before coming to Mount Allison I was afraid of putting myself out there and meeting new people. Now, compared to the start of the first year, I have grown to be more independent and gain more confidence in myself.
... My favourite thing to do in Sackville is exploring the town with friends on any weekends or any free afternoons when I or my friends do not have work to do. I especially enjoy cafes such as Cranewood Bakery or Aida's cafe which are some of my favourite spots to go. Also of course going for walks to Waterfowl park and enjoy each season throughout the school year.
... The advice I would give to incoming students is that Mount A is a great school so embrace every opportunity you are given and enjoy your time. I recommend saying hello to as many people as possible in your earlier days, some of these people will likely become your best friends.
