People are not lying when they say the 4 years of undergraduate studies are the years where you will change the most. I used to be a very shy girl who just went through life checking all the boxes but when I came to Mount A, I learned to try new things that were out of my comfort zone, focus not only on school but myself and just surround myself with whatever and whoever made me happy. It is very important to just be yourself here and have fun (while focusing on your studies of course!). It is very cheesy but you only live once so why not do what you love!
If you've seen my Campus Ambassador profile, you'll know what my answer is! But if you haven't, it is hands down the trip I took to Honduras 2 years ago with the Mount Allison Global Brigades group. The experience was absolutely amazing and it has changed my perspective of life completely. I highly recommend trying it out for yourself! Not only was it a great learning opportunity but I was able to meet so many inspiring people that I will never forget, that includes the amazing group I meet here in Sackville!
That's a hard one... but I personally spend the majority of my free time in waterfowl either walking or running! It is just such a beautiful place, I will never get tired of it. However, I do have to also emphasize my love for all the cute little cafe's we have here. I have a caffeine addiction and a major sweet tooth so it is the PERFECT place for me to just chill out with my friends and enjoy the scenery!
Number 1 rule... LEAVE YOUR ROOM! Okay, so what I mean by that is don't stay cooped up in your room either watching Netflix, gaming or studying all day. The only way to meet new people is to get out, join a club or just chill in the STUD ( Student centre). I've actually meet most of my best friends in the lounge of my residence so I didn't even have to look that far! Basically, the main message is that your social circle is what makes your university experience that much better and there's no way you'll meet them if you never leave your room.
